Responsibility
- Design, develop, and implement physical security architectures for AWS colocation data centers, ensuring alignment with corporate and regulatory standards (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2, NIST).
- Lead risk assessments and vulnerability analyses for physical security systems, proposing mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and compliance teams to integrate security solutions into facility designs and upgrades.
- Evaluate and recommend emerging security technologies, such as AI-powered surveillance, drone detection, and multi-factor authentication systems.
- Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and documentation for colocation environments.
- Oversee vendor and contractor management for security system deployments, ensuring adherence to AWS standards.
- Conduct security audits and penetration testing to validate the effectiveness of physical controls.
- Provide thought leadership on physical security trends and represent AWS in industry forums and conferences.
Qualifications
- Bachelorâs degree in Security Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (Masterâs preferred).
- 8+ years of experience in physical security architecture, with a focus on data centers, critical infrastructure, or high-security facilities.
- Proven expertise in security system design, including CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, and perimeter protection.
- Deep knowledge of industry standards (e.g., ISO 27001, UL 2050, TIA-942) and compliance frameworks (e.g., SOC 2, PCI DSS).
- Experience with risk management methodologies and conducting security assessments for large-scale facilities.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives in a global environment.
- Certifications such as CPP (Certified Protection Professional), PSP (Physical Security Professional), or CISSP are highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leadership.
