job description
Join Midea, a global leader in consumer electronics and smart manufacturing, as a Senior PCB Engineer in our dynamic Bali office. This is a unique opportunity to drive innovation in printed circuit board (PCB) design, working at the intersection of cutting-edge R&D, precision manufacturing, and quality assurance.
In this role, you will lead the development of high-performance PCBs for next-generation products, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration from concept to mass production. Your expertise will directly impact the reliability, efficiency, and scalability of our electronic solutions, powering smart home appliances, industrial systems, and IoT devices.
Bali’s thriving tech ecosystem and Midea’s commitment to sustainability and innovation create an inspiring environment for engineers who thrive on solving complex challenges. If you’re passionate about pushing the boundaries of PCB technology, we’d love to hear from you.
Responsibility
- Design and develop high-density, multi-layer PCBs for consumer and industrial electronics, ensuring compliance with industry standards (IPC, UL, CE).
- Collaborate with R&D, mechanical, and firmware teams to optimize PCB layouts for performance, manufacturability, and cost-efficiency.
- Conduct signal integrity (SI) and power integrity (PI) analyses to mitigate EMI/EMC issues and ensure robust operation.
- Select and qualify components, materials, and stack-ups based on thermal, electrical, and reliability requirements.
- Work closely with manufacturing partners to resolve DFM (Design for Manufacturing) issues and improve yield rates.
- Perform prototype testing and validation, including functional, environmental, and reliability tests (e.g., HALT, thermal cycling).
- Document design specifications, BOMs, and test reports for regulatory compliance and internal knowledge sharing.
- Stay updated on emerging PCB technologies (e.g., flexible PCBs, HDI, embedded components) and propose innovations for future products.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in PCB design for high-volume production, preferably in consumer electronics or industrial applications.
- Proficiency in PCB design tools (e.g., Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, KiCad) and simulation software (e.g., HyperLynx, Ansys SIwave).
- Deep understanding of high-speed digital design, analog/mixed-signal circuits, and power distribution networks.
- Experience with manufacturing processes (e.g., SMT, reflow soldering) and supplier management.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards (IPC-2221, IPC-A-600, RoHS, REACH) and certification processes.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex PCB-related issues.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate across global teams.
