Responsibility
- Oversee end-to-end payroll processing for construction projects, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
- Ensure compliance with Malaysian payroll regulations, tax laws, and labor standards.
- Mentor and train junior payroll staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
- Collaborate with HR and project managers to resolve payroll discrepancies and address employee inquiries.
- Maintain and update payroll records, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
- Prepare and submit statutory reports, including EPF, SOCSO, and income tax deductions.
- Implement process improvements to enhance payroll efficiency and reduce errors.
- Liaise with external auditors and government agencies during payroll audits and inspections.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll processing, preferably in the construction industry.
- In-depth knowledge of Malaysian payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.
- Proficient in payroll software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
- Certification in payroll management (e.g., CPP, CPM) is a plus.
