Responsibility
- Conduct comprehensive patentability searches and analyze prior art to determine the novelty and inventive steps of innovations.
- Draft, review, and refine patent applications, claims, and specifications in compliance with Indonesian and international IP laws.
- Provide expert advice on IP strategies, including patent filing, prosecution, and portfolio management.
- Collaborate with R&D teams to assess the industrial applicability of inventions and align them with business objectives.
- Monitor and analyze competitor patent activities to identify risks and opportunities for clients.
- Represent the company in patent office proceedings, including examinations, oppositions, and appeals.
- Educate internal stakeholders on IP best practices and emerging trends in patent law.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of global IP regulations and ensure compliance in all patent-related activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law, Engineering, or a related technical field (preferably with a focus on IP).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in patent law, with a proven track record in patent drafting, prosecution, or litigation.
- In-depth knowledge of Indonesian and international patent systems (e.g., WIPO, EPO, USPTO).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex technical and legal documents.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Indonesian is a plus.
- Experience with patent search tools (e.g., Derwent, Espacenet, USPTO databases) and IP management software.
- Certification as a Registered Patent Agent (Indonesia or other jurisdictions) is highly desirable.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
