As an OSP Engineer, you will lead the planning, design, and implementation of fiber network deployments, ensuring high-performance, scalability, and reliability. Responsibility
- Design and engineer fiber-optic outside plant (OSP) networks, including route planning, cable sizing, and splice point optimization.
- Conduct site surveys and feasibility studies to assess terrain, existing infrastructure, and regulatory compliance.
- Develop detailed construction drawings, schematics, and Bill of Materials (BOM) for network deployments.
- Collaborate with civil works teams, contractors, and local authorities to ensure smooth project execution.
- Perform fiber optic testing (OTDR, power meters, etc.) and troubleshoot network performance issues.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (ITU-T, ANSI/TIA, local regulations) and best practices.
- Optimize network designs for cost-efficiency, scalability, and future-proofing.
- Provide technical support and guidance to field technicians and project stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in OSP fiber network design and deployment.
- Proficiency in fiber optic design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, GIS, Fiber PlanIT, or similar).
- Strong knowledge of fiber optic cabling, splicing, and testing methodologies.
- Experience with project management and coordination in telecommunications or ISP environments.
- Familiarity with local regulations and permitting processes in Indonesia (preferred).
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in fast-paced, dynamic environments and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
