As a Senior Metrology Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in developing, implementing, and maintaining advanced measurement systems to guarantee the highest accuracy and reliability of our glass products. Responsibility
- Design, develop, and validate metrology systems and calibration procedures to ensure compliance with ISO, ANSI, and industry-specific standards.
- Lead the maintenance and optimization of precision measurement equipment, including CMMs, optical comparators, and laser interferometers.
- Conduct root cause analysis for measurement discrepancies and implement corrective actions to enhance product consistency.
- Collaborate with R&D and production teams to integrate metrology best practices into new product development and existing workflows.
- Train and mentor junior engineers and technicians on metrology techniques, data interpretation, and quality control protocols.
- Develop and maintain documentation for measurement processes, including SOPs, calibration records, and audit reports.
- Stay abreast of emerging metrology technologies and recommend upgrades to improve accuracy, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
- Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements in all metrology operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in metrology, quality assurance, or precision engineering, preferably in manufacturing or glass/advanced materials industries.
- Proficiency in using metrology tools such as CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machines), optical measurement systems, and statistical analysis software (e.g., Minitab, SPSS).
- Strong knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) and international metrology standards (ISO 9001, ISO/IEC 17025).
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to process improvement.
- Experience with calibration management systems and metrology software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calibration Control).
- Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
- Ability to work independently and in a team, with strong communication and leadership skills.
