Responsibility
- Develop and execute merchandising strategies for food and souvenir product lines to maximize sales and profitability.
- Lead category management, including assortment planning, pricing, and promotional activities.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and consumer insights to identify growth opportunities.
- Collaborate with procurement, marketing, and sales teams to align product offerings with brand goals.
- Optimize inventory levels and supply chain efficiency to reduce costs and improve turnover.
- Monitor KPIs (e.g., sell-through rates, margin performance) and present data-driven recommendations to stakeholders.
- Negotiate with suppliers and vendors to secure favorable terms and exclusive product ranges.
- Train and mentor junior merchandising staff to build a high-performing team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Retail Management, or related field; MBA is a plus.
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in merchandising, category management, or retail buying, with at least 3 years in a senior role.
- Proven track record in food retail, FMCG, or souvenir industries with a focus on premium or international brands.
- Strong analytical skills, including proficiency in Excel, retail analytics tools, and demand forecasting.
- Exceptional negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Experience working in Southeast Asia or emerging markets is highly advantageous.
- Fluency in English; additional languages (e.g., Indonesian, Mandarin) are a bonus.
