Responsibility
- Design and develop 2D and 3D mechanical models using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor) for sheet metal and structural components.
- Create detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and bills of materials (BOM) for manufacturing and assembly.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, production, QA) to ensure designs meet technical, cost, and timeline requirements.
- Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) and stress simulations to validate design integrity and performance.
- Optimize sheet metal designs for manufacturability, cost-efficiency, and material utilization.
- Review and approve vendor/subcontractor drawings and prototypes to ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during prototyping, testing, and production phases.
- Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in mechanical engineering and CAD tools.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design, with a focus on sheet metal, CAD (2D/3D), and precision engineering.
- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Fusion 360, or similar) and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, including sheet metal fabrication, welding, and assembly techniques.
- Experience with FEA tools (ANSYS, NASTRAN) and prototyping methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluency in English (written and verbal); Japanese language skills are a significant advantage.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate with global stakeholders.
