As a Senior M&E Site Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of complex construction projects, ensuring that all mechanical and electrical installations meet rigorous quality, safety, and efficiency standards.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in large-scale building construction and a deep understanding of M&E systems, including HVAC, fire protection, and electrical distribution. You will oversee on-site operations, coordinate with sub-contractors, and ensure seamless integration of M&E services with architectural and structural components. Responsibility
- Lead and supervise on-site M&E installation activities to ensure compliance with project specifications, local building codes, and safety standards.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, and sub-contractors to resolve technical issues and optimize work sequences.
- Manage and monitor the progress of M&E works, ensuring that project milestones and deadlines are consistently met.
- Perform regular site inspections to verify installation quality and identify potential design clashes or discrepancies.
- Review M&E shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements for technical accuracy and constructability.
- Oversee the testing and commissioning of M&E systems, ensuring full functionality before project handover.
- Manage site resources, including labor, materials, and equipment, to ensure cost-effective project execution.
- Prepare comprehensive site progress reports and update management on technical status and potential risks.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience in M&E coordination within the construction industry, preferably with reputable main contractors.
- In-depth knowledge of local authority requirements (BCA, PUB, LTA, FSSD) in Singapore.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, BIM (Revit), and standard project management software.
- Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills to manage diverse stakeholder groups.
- Ability to interpret complex M&E schematics and architectural drawings.
- Proven track record in managing complex site operations and troubleshooting engineering challenges.
- Valid certification in relevant safety courses (e.g., BCSS) is highly preferred.
