Responsibility
- Lead the design and development of mechanical systems and components for semiconductor automation equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards and specifications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, software developers, and project managers, to integrate mechanical designs into comprehensive automation solutions.
- Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and design reviews to validate mechanical concepts and optimize performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
- Utilize advanced CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) to create detailed 3D models, technical drawings, and simulations for prototyping and production.
- Oversee the testing, validation, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems, identifying and resolving design flaws or performance issues.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to ensure adherence to best practices and company standards.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and materials in mechanical engineering and semiconductor automation to drive innovation.
- Prepare and present technical reports, design documentation, and progress updates to stakeholders and senior management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; professional certification (e.g., PE, CEng) is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design, with a focus on semiconductor equipment, automation, or precision machinery.
- Proficiency in CAD tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Creo, and experience with simulation software (e.g., ANSYS, COMSOL).
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials selection, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Experience with DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFA (Design for Assembly) principles to optimize cost and efficiency.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex technical challenges and propose innovative solutions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a multicultural team environment.
- Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., ISO, SEMATECH) and regulatory requirements for semiconductor equipment is highly desirable.
