Responsibility
- Lead the end-to-end design and development of mechanical systems, modules, and components, ensuring alignment with project requirements and industry standards.
- Spearhead research and innovation in mechanical concepts, materials, and manufacturing processes to enhance performance and sustainability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (electrical, software, and manufacturing) to integrate mechanical designs into cohesive product solutions.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
- Conduct feasibility studies, prototyping, and testing to validate design integrity, reliability, and compliance with safety regulations.
- Optimize existing mechanical designs for cost efficiency, manufacturability, and scalability without compromising quality.
- Prepare and present technical documentation, including specifications, reports, and design reviews for stakeholders.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends in mechanical engineering, such as additive manufacturing, IoT integration, and smart materials.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; PE/Chartered Engineer certification is a plus.
- Minimum 8+ years of experience in mechanical design, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo) and CAE tools (ANSYS, MATLAB) for simulation and analysis.
- Deep expertise in material selection, tolerancing, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
- Proven track record in product development lifecycle, from concept to mass production, preferably in electronics, aerospace, or industrial sectors.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to articulate complex technical concepts to non-engineering teams.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards (e.g., ISO, UL, CE) and experience with DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis).
