Responsibility
- Design and develop HVAC systems for diverse projects, including load calculations, ductwork layouts, and equipment selection using industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Carrier HAP).
- Create and review technical drawings, schematics, and specifications to ensure accuracy and compliance with local and international codes (ASHRAE, SNI, etc.).
- Perform heat load and cooling load calculations to optimize system sizing and energy efficiency for tropical climates.
- Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and contractors to integrate HVAC systems seamlessly into building designs.
- Select and specify HVAC equipment (chillers, AHUs, VRF systems, etc.) based on project requirements, budget, and sustainability goals.
- Provide technical support during project execution, including site visits, troubleshooting, and commissioning.
- Ensure all designs adhere to safety, environmental, and regulatory standards, including green building certifications where applicable.
- Prepare cost estimates, BOQs (Bill of Quantities), and project timelines for HVAC installations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; a Master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in HVAC design, preferably in Southeast Asia or tropical regions.
- Proficiency in HVAC design software (AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Carrier HAP, or equivalent).
- Strong knowledge of ASHRAE standards, local building codes, and energy-efficient design principles.
- Experience with load calculation tools (e.g., Cooling Load Temperature Difference/CLTD, or similar).
- Excellent technical drawing and blueprint reading skills.
- Familiarity with sustainable HVAC technologies (e.g., solar-assisted cooling, heat recovery systems).
- Strong communication and project management skills to liaise with stakeholders and teams.
