Responsibility
- Lead the development of hull outfitting detail designs, ensuring full compliance with Class (e.g., ABS, DNV, LR) and Technical specifications for marine vessels and offshore structures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including naval architects, structural engineers, and project managers, to integrate outfitting designs seamlessly into overall project plans.
- Conduct thorough reviews of design drawings, calculations, and technical documents to verify accuracy, feasibility, and adherence to industry standards.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
- Coordinate with procurement and fabrication teams to ensure timely and cost-effective execution of outfitting packages, including steel structures and equipment installations.
- Perform risk assessments and propose mitigation strategies to address potential design or construction challenges, ensuring project delivery within schedule and budget.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in marine engineering, materials, and regulatory requirements to drive continuous improvement in design processes.
- Participate in client meetings, design reviews, and project presentations to represent the engineering team and ensure alignment with stakeholder expectations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., PE, CEng) is a plus.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in hull outfitting design, steel structure engineering, or marine/offshore project execution, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead role.
- Proficiency in 3D modeling and design software such as AutoCAD, ShipConstructor, NX, or equivalent tools.
- Strong knowledge of Class rules and regulations (e.g., ABS, DNV, LR, IMO) and their application in hull outfitting design.
- Hands-on experience with FEED (Front-End Engineering Design) and detailed engineering phases of marine and offshore projects.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to develop innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia is an advantage.
