Responsibility

  • Lead the design and development of high-performance hardware systems, including servers, storage solutions, and networking components, from concept to production.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (firmware, software, and mechanical engineers) to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of hardware designs.
  • Perform circuit analysis, signal integrity testing, and thermal simulations to validate hardware designs and meet performance specifications.
  • Develop and maintain hardware design documentation, including schematics, PCB layouts, and test procedures, ensuring compliance with industry standards (e.g., IPC, ISO).
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware-related issues during prototyping, testing, and mass production phases.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies (e.g., AI accelerators, high-speed interfaces, power-efficient designs) and evaluate their applicability to HPE’s product roadmap.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to ensure high-quality deliverables and continuous team improvement.
  • Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and failure mode analysis (FMEA) to ensure robust and reliable hardware solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field (PhD is a plus).
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in hardware design, with a focus on servers, storage systems, or high-speed digital circuits.
  • Proficiency in PCB design tools (e.g., Altium, Cadence Allegro, Mentor Graphics) and simulation tools (e.g., SPICE, Ansys, HyperLynx).
  • Hands-on experience with high-speed digital design (e.g., DDR, PCIe, Ethernet) and power integrity analysis.
  • Strong understanding of FPGA/ASIC development, embedded systems, and hardware-software co-design.
  • Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., PCI-SIG, IEEE, JEDEC) and regulatory compliance (e.g., FCC, CE, RoHS).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment.
  • Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to collaborate effectively with global teams.
