Responsibility
- Lead the geotechnical design review of earth-fill dam Tailings Storage Facilities (TSF), ensuring alignment with international standards (e.g., ICOLD, ANCOLD).
- Provide technical oversight and assurance for TSF construction, monitoring, and operational phases.
- Conduct stability analyses (static, dynamic, seismic) and risk assessments for dam structures and foundations.
- Develop and implement instrumentation and monitoring programs to track performance and detect early warning signs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (environmental, civil, hydrological) to integrate geotechnical considerations into broader project plans.
- Prepare and present technical reports, recommendations, and decision-support documents for senior management and regulators.
- Ensure compliance with local and international regulations (e.g., Indonesian mining laws, global tailings standards).
- Mentor junior engineers and provide training on geotechnical best practices and emerging technologies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field; Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) certification preferred.
- Minimum 8+ years of experience in geotechnical engineering, with at least 5 years specializing in tailings dams or large earth structures.
- Proven expertise in TSF design, stability analysis, and construction supervision (experience with soft soil, seismic zones, or tropical climates is a plus).
- Proficiency in industry-standard software (e.g., FLAC, PLAXIS, Slide, GeoStudio, or similar).
- Strong knowledge of international dam safety guidelines (ICOLD, ANCOLD, CDA) and Indonesian mining regulations.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams.
- Fluency in English (written and verbal); knowledge of Bahasa Indonesia is advantageous.
- Willingness to relocate to Bali, Indonesia and travel to project sites as needed.
