The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) is looking for a dedicated and disciplined professional to join our team as a Senior Fire Officer I in the Ilocos Region. In this critical leadership role, you will be responsible for overseeing fire prevention, suppression, and emergency response operations to ensure the safety and security of the community.
As a Senior Fire Officer I, you will serve as a vital link between the operational ground team and command leadership. You will lead emergency response units, mentor junior fire personnel, and implement fire safety protocols in alignment with the BFPās mandate. We are seeking individuals with strong decision-making skills, physical resilience, and a deep commitment to public service.
Responsibility
- Lead and supervise fire suppression teams during emergency response operations.
- Conduct regular fire safety inspections of commercial and residential establishments to ensure code compliance.
- Execute complex search and rescue missions during fire, medical, or disaster-related incidents.
- Develop and implement unit training programs to improve tactical readiness and equipment proficiency.
- Maintain operational readiness of fire stations, vehicles, and fire-fighting apparatus.
- Prepare accurate incident reports and administrative documentation for official BFP records.
- Engage with the local community to promote fire prevention awareness and emergency preparedness programs.
Qualifications
- Graduate of a four-year bachelor's degree from a recognized institution.
- Must possess a Career Service Professional Eligibility (Second Level) or equivalent RA 1080 eligibility.
- Proven physical fitness and ability to pass the BFP medical and physical agility tests.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of relevant experience in firefighting, emergency management, or public safety operations.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities and experience in personnel management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Filipino.
- Strong knowledge of local fire codes, public safety laws, and disaster management protocols.
- Willingness to work on shifts, including weekends and holidays, as required by the service.
