Responsibility
- Oversee and maintain broadcast systems, including cameras, audio equipment, and live production setups to ensure high-quality media output.
- Provide technical support for studio and field productions, troubleshooting hardware/software issues in real-time.
- Collaborate with IT teams to integrate broadcast systems with university networks, ensuring secure and efficient data transmission.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for media production workflows to enhance operational efficiency.
- Train and mentor junior staff and students on the use of broadcast equipment and software tools.
- Monitor and upgrade broadcast infrastructure, including servers, storage systems, and editing suites, to meet evolving technological demands.
- Coordinate with external vendors for equipment procurement, maintenance, and repairs.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and university policies for media production and IT security.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Media, Film Production, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Cisco, Adobe Certified) are a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in broadcast support, media production, or IT operations, preferably in an academic or corporate setting.
- Proven expertise in operating and troubleshooting broadcast equipment (e.g., cameras, switchers, audio mixers, encoders).
- Strong knowledge of IT networks, video streaming protocols (RTMP, HLS), and media asset management systems.
- Proficiency in video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro) and broadcast automation tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices for media systems is highly desirable.
