Responsibility
- Oversee and manage daily environmental services operations, including cleaning, waste disposal, and sanitation across hospital facilities.
- Develop, implement, and monitor compliance with local and international environmental health regulations and hospital policies.
- Lead and mentor a team of environmental service staff, ensuring high standards of performance, training, and professional development.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Infection Control, Facilities Management) to enhance hygiene protocols and reduce healthcare-associated infections.
- Conduct regular audits, risk assessments, and inspections to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to safety standards.
- Optimize resource allocation, including budgeting, procurement of eco-friendly supplies, and sustainable waste management solutions.
- Drive initiatives to promote environmental sustainability, such as energy conservation, recycling programs, and green hospital certifications.
- Prepare and present reports on environmental service performance, KPIs, and compliance metrics to senior management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental services, healthcare hygiene, or facilities management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of environmental health regulations, infection control practices, and OSHA/WHO standards.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop teams in a high-pressure healthcare environment.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management abilities.
- Certification in Healthcare Environmental Management (e.g., CHESP) or equivalent is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in using environmental monitoring tools, data analysis software, and MS Office Suite.
