Responsibility
- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance ETL pipelines using tools like Informatica, Talend, SSIS, or Python-based frameworks (e.g., Pandas, PySpark).
- Extract, clean, transform, and load data from multiple sources (databases, APIs, flat files) into data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).
- Optimize ETL processes for speed, scalability, and reliability, reducing latency and improving data quality.
- Collaborate with data analysts, scientists, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver actionable insights.
- Implement data validation, monitoring, and error-handling mechanisms to ensure data integrity.
- Automate workflows using scheduling tools (e.g., Airflow, Control-M) to streamline data processing.
- Document ETL processes, data lineage, and technical specifications for compliance and knowledge sharing.
- Stay updated with emerging ETL tools, technologies, and best practices to drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; advanced degrees are a plus.
- Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience as an ETL Developer or in a similar data engineering role.
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, or Java for data manipulation and scripting.
- Experience with ETL tools such as Informatica PowerCenter, Talend, SSIS, or open-source alternatives.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark) is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts (star schema, snowflake schema, dimensional modeling).
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical teams.
- Experience with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
