Responsibility
- Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and project documents to prepare accurate cost estimates.
- Develop detailed quantity takeoffs for materials, labor, and equipment required for industrial projects.
- Prepare and submit competitive bid proposals and tender documents within tight deadlines.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to validate estimates and ensure alignment with project goals.
- Conduct market research to stay updated on material costs, labor rates, and industry trends.
- Analyze project risks and propose cost-saving measures without compromising quality.
- Present estimates to clients and stakeholders with clear, data-driven justifications.
- Maintain a database of historical cost data to improve estimation accuracy over time.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in construction estimation, preferably in industrial projects.
- Proficiency in estimation software (e.g., PlanSwift, Bluebeam, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and cost structures in industrial settings.
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Outstanding communication and negotiation skills for client and team interactions.
- Experience working in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
