Responsibility
- Lead the preparation and submission of high-value construction proposals, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and competitiveness.
- Collaborate with engineering, project management, and sales teams to gather technical and commercial requirements.
- Conduct detailed cost analysis, including material, labor, and overhead estimates, to support bid strategies.
- Develop and maintain a database of cost metrics, vendor quotes, and historical project data for benchmarking.
- Review and interpret blueprints, specifications, and contract documents to identify scope and potential risks.
- Present proposals and cost estimates to internal stakeholders and clients, addressing inquiries and negotiating terms.
- Monitor industry trends, material costs, and regulatory changes to refine estimating methodologies.
- Mentor junior estimators and provide guidance on best practices in proposal development.
Qualifications
- Bachelorâs degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., PMP, CPE) are a plus.
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in construction estimating, proposal engineering, or a similar role, preferably in large-scale projects.
- Proficient in estimating software (e.g., Primavera, Bluebeam, or PlanSwift) and Microsoft Excel for complex calculations.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and cost drivers in the Southeast Asian market.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills to articulate technical and financial details clearly.
- Proven ability to manage multiple proposals under tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
- Experience working with international clients or multinational corporations is highly desirable.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of Bahasa Indonesia is an advantage.
