Responsibility
- Lead comprehensive failure analysis on production defects, customer returns, and qualification failures using advanced diagnostic tools and methodologies.
- Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to mitigate recurrence of failures and improve product reliability.
- Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, and quality teams to identify systemic issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) using techniques such as 8D, 5 Whys, or Fishbone diagrams to determine underlying causes of failures.
- Prepare detailed technical reports and presentations summarizing findings, recommendations, and action plans for stakeholders.
- Support reliability testing and validation activities to ensure products meet industry standards and customer expectations.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on failure analysis best practices and methodologies.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and standards in failure analysis and reliability engineering.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in failure analysis, reliability engineering, or a similar role within the semiconductor, electronics, or optoelectronics industry.
- Proven expertise in root cause analysis (RCA) tools and methodologies (e.g., 8D, 5 Whys, FMEA).
- Hands-on experience with laboratory equipment such as scanning electron microscopes (SEM), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), or optical microscopes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and draw actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with global teams and present findings to stakeholders.
- Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., ISO, JEDEC, IPC) and reliability testing protocols.
- Proficiency in technical writing and documentation, with the ability to create clear and concise reports.
