Responsibility
- Lead the electrical design function for utility-scale and C&I solar PV projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
- Develop and optimize electrical designs, including single-line diagrams, schematics, and layout plans for solar PV systems.
- Conduct technical feasibility studies, energy yield assessments, and system performance simulations to validate design efficiency.
- Collaborate with project managers, civil engineers, and procurement teams to ensure seamless project execution from design to commissioning.
- Review and approve electrical components, such as inverters, transformers, and switchgear, to ensure compatibility and reliability.
- Perform site assessments and provide technical support during construction, testing, and commissioning phases.
- Ensure all designs adhere to local regulations, safety standards, and best practices in renewable energy engineering.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to support team development and project success.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical design for solar PV projects, with a focus on utility-scale or C&I systems.
- Proficiency in electrical design software such as AutoCAD, ETAP, PVsyst, or SKM PowerTools.
- Strong knowledge of electrical codes and standards (e.g., IEC, NEC, PEC) and their application in solar PV systems.
- Experience with system integration, including inverters, transformers, and protection devices.
- Familiarity with energy storage systems (ESS) and hybrid solar solutions is highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to present technical concepts clearly to stakeholders.
