The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is seeking a highly skilled Senior Editor to join our dynamic team in Bali, Indonesia. This pivotal role is part of the Information Access Unit (IAU) within the Office of the Secretary (SEC), where you will play a key role in shaping high-impact communications for one of Asia’s leading development institutions.
As our Senior Editor, you will ensure the clarity, accuracy, and professionalism of ADB’s publications, reports, and digital content. Your expertise will help amplify our mission of fostering economic growth, social development, and regional cooperation across Asia and the Pacific. Based in the vibrant cultural hub of Bali, you’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver content that meets international standards while resonating with diverse audiences.

Responsibility
- Edit and proofread a wide range of ADB publications, including reports, policy documents, and digital content, ensuring adherence to style guides and institutional standards.
- Collaborate with subject-matter experts to refine complex technical content into clear, engaging, and accessible language.
- Develop and implement editorial guidelines to maintain consistency across all ADB communications.
- Manage multiple editing projects simultaneously, meeting tight deadlines without compromising quality.
- Provide training and mentorship to junior editors and content creators to elevate overall writing standards.
- Coordinate with translation teams to ensure accuracy in multilingual publications.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging trends in editing, communications, and digital publishing.
- Contribute to the development of ADB’s content strategy, aligning editorial efforts with organizational goals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, English, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 7 years of professional editing experience, preferably in international development, finance, or a similar sector.
- Exceptional command of English grammar, syntax, and style, with a keen eye for detail.
- Proven ability to edit complex documents, including economic reports, policy briefs, and technical publications.
- Familiarity with AP Style, Chicago Manual of Style, or other relevant style guides.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working in a multicultural setting, with sensitivity to diverse audiences and perspectives.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and content management systems (CMS).
