Responsibility

  • Define and document detailed chip specifications, including performance metrics, power consumption, and area constraints for analog and mixed-signal modules.
  • Design, simulate, and verify high-precision analog circuits (e.g., PLLs, ADCs, DACs, amplifiers) using industry-standard tools like Cadence, Spectre, or HSPICE.
  • Collaborate with layout engineers to ensure DFM (Design for Manufacturing) compliance, optimizing for yield, reliability, and parasitic effects.
  • Lead pre-silicon validation through rigorous testing and debugging, ensuring first-pass success in fabrication.
  • Troubleshoot post-silicon production issues, analyzing failures and implementing corrective actions to enhance product robustness.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive design documentation, including schematics, test reports, and user manuals for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Stay abreast of emerging IC design trends (e.g., FinFET, advanced packaging) and integrate innovative techniques into project workflows.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to cross-team knowledge sharing to foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field, with a focus on IC design or semiconductor physics.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in analog/mixed-signal IC design, preferably in CMOS or BiCMOS technologies.
  • Proficiency in EDA tools such as Cadence Virtuoso, Spectre, HSPICE, or Synopsys Custom Designer.
  • Strong understanding of layout-dependent effects (LDE), matching techniques, and parasitic extraction (PEX).
  • Experience with scripting languages (Python, Perl, or Tcl) for automation and data analysis.
  • Familiarity with verification methodologies (e.g., UVM, SystemVerilog) for analog/mixed-signal blocks.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to debug complex circuit-level and system-level issues.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities, with a track record of collaborating across global teams.
