Responsibility
- Lead the design and development of mechanical, electrical, or structural systems from initial concept to final production, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to define project scope, timelines, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Create and refine 2D/3D models, technical drawings, and prototypes using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Fusion 360) and simulation tools.
- Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and cost analyses to optimize design solutions for performance, manufacturability, and sustainability.
- Perform testing, validation, and troubleshooting of designs to identify and resolve technical challenges, ensuring product reliability and safety.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies, materials, and industry trends to incorporate innovative solutions into design processes.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to support their professional growth and project success.
- Document design processes, specifications, and revisions to maintain clear and accurate project records.
Qualifications
- Bachelorâs or Masterâs degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in design engineering, with a proven track record of delivering successful projects (3+ years for mid-level roles).
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA, Fusion 360) and simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS, COMSOL).
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials science, and engineering principles (e.g., thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, structural analysis).
- Experience with prototyping, testing, and validation of designs, including hands-on lab or workshop experience.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically under pressure to resolve complex technical challenges.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and present ideas clearly.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations (e.g., ISO, ASTM, IEC) is a plus.
- Experience with sustainable design practices or renewable energy projects is highly desirable.
