Responsibility
- Develop detailed technical drawings and blueprints for custom leather and fabric furniture using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
- Collaborate with designers, engineers, and production teams to refine product specifications and ensure manufacturability.
- Create and maintain BOMs (Bill of Materials) and assembly instructions for international clients.
- Review and validate design prototypes to meet quality, safety, and ergonomic standards.
- Optimize designs for cost efficiency, material usage, and production feasibility.
- Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and manufacturing technologies to drive innovation.
- Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers to resolve technical queries and ensure timely project delivery.
- Document and archive design revisions and engineering changes for traceability.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience as a Draughtsman or Design Engineer in furniture manufacturing or a similar industry.
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or SketchUp) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of material properties (leather, fabric, wood, metal) and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and 3D models.
- Excellent attention to detail and spatial reasoning skills.
- Fluency in English (written and verbal) for international collaboration.
- Experience with ERP or PLM systems is a plus.
