Responsibility
- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance database systems to support business operations and client needs.
- Optimize database performance through indexing, query tuning, and other best practices to ensure efficiency and scalability.
- Collaborate with software developers, data analysts, and other stakeholders to integrate database solutions with applications and systems.
- Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with industry standards and company policies.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, including performance bottlenecks, data corruption, and connectivity problems.
- Develop and implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies to safeguard critical data.
- Create and maintain documentation for database schemas, processes, and procedures.
- Stay updated with emerging database technologies and trends to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelorâs degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in database development, administration, or a similar role.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational database management systems (RDBMS) such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Microsoft SQL Server.
- Strong understanding of database design principles, normalization, and data modeling.
- Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra) is a plus.
- Familiarity with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., AWS RDS, Google Cloud SQL, Azure SQL) is highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a remote, team-oriented environment.
