Responsibility
- Design, implement, and maintain high-availability database systems (SQL/NoSQL) to support business operations.
- Monitor and optimize database performance, ensuring 99.9% uptime and minimal latency.
- Develop and enforce data security policies, including backup, recovery, and disaster recovery plans.
- Collaborate with software developers, data analysts, and IT teams to integrate database solutions.
- Automate routine database tasks (e.g., backups, indexing, partitioning) using scripts and tools.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, including query optimization and deadlocks.
- Migrate legacy databases to modern, scalable architectures (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL, or Google Cloud SQL).
- Document database schemas, procedures, and best practices for team reference.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience as a Database Administrator or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and database-as-a-service (DBaaS) solutions.
- Strong knowledge of database security, encryption, and compliance (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
- Familiarity with ETL processes, data warehousing, and big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Snowflake).
- Scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills with a collaborative mindset.
