Responsibility
- Design, install, configure, and maintain SQL/NoSQL databases (e.g., Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB) to ensure high availability and performance.
- Develop and enforce database policies, standards, and best practices to guarantee data consistency, security, and compliance.
- Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies (indexing, query tuning, partitioning).
- Perform backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures to safeguard critical business data.
- Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to support application requirements and CI/CD pipelines.
- Automate routine database tasks using scripts (Python, Bash, PowerShell) and tools to improve efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related incidents with minimal downtime, providing root cause analysis.
- Stay updated with emerging database technologies and recommend upgrades or migrations as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degrees are a plus.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator, with expertise in enterprise-level databases.
- Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and database management systems (e.g., Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
- Hands-on experience with cloud databases (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud SQL) is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of data modeling, normalization, and indexing techniques for performance optimization.
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments and scripting languages (Python, Shell).
- Certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, or similar are advantageous.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with global teams.
