Responsibility
- Design, develop, and implement data migration strategies to ensure seamless transition of banking data across systems with minimal disruption.
- Collaborate with business analysts, IT teams, and stakeholders to define data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Build and maintain scalable data pipelines using ETL/ELT tools (e.g., Apache NiFi, Talend, Informatica) to support reporting and analytics.
- Optimize data warehousing solutions (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift) for performance, cost-efficiency, and reliability.
- Develop and enforce data governance policies, including data quality, security, and compliance with banking regulations (e.g., Basel III, GDPR).
- Automate reporting processes to provide real-time insights for business decision-making.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues, ensuring high availability and accuracy of banking systems.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to best practices in data engineering and migration.
Qualifications
- Bachelorâs degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or a related field (Masterâs degree preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering, data migration, or a similar role within the banking or financial services sector.
- Proficiency in ETL/ELT tools (e.g., Apache NiFi, Talend, Informatica) and data warehousing technologies (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift).
- Strong knowledge of SQL, Python, or Scala for data processing and automation.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
- Familiarity with banking data models (e.g., core banking systems, payment processing, risk management).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Certifications in data engineering (e.g., Google Professional Data Engineer, AWS Certified Data Analytics) are a plus.
