In this role, you will design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines that process and analyze vast datasets from IoT sensors, GIS systems, and civil engineering platforms. Based in the vibrant hub of Canggu, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, including urban planners, civil engineers, and data scientists, to transform raw data into actionable insights. Responsibility
- Design, develop, and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest, process, and store large-scale civil infrastructure data (e.g., traffic patterns, structural health monitoring, environmental sensors).
- Build and maintain data warehouses and data lakes using cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) to support real-time analytics for urban development projects.
- Collaborate with GIS specialists and civil engineers to integrate geospatial data into predictive models for infrastructure planning.
- Implement data governance and quality frameworks to ensure accuracy, consistency, and security of civil engineering datasets.
- Develop machine learning models to forecast infrastructure demands, optimize resource allocation, and detect anomalies in structural data.
- Automate reporting and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) to present insights to stakeholders and government agencies.
- Monitor pipeline performance, troubleshoot data issues, and implement scalability solutions for growing datasets.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies in smart cities, IoT, and civil data engineering to drive innovation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, with a focus on infrastructure, IoT, or geospatial data.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, Spark, and big data tools (e.g., Hadoop, Kafka, Airflow).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and data storage solutions (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).
- Familiarity with GIS tools (QGIS, ArcGIS) and geospatial databases (PostGIS).
- Strong understanding of data modeling, warehousing, and ETL best practices.
- Experience with real-time data processing and streaming technologies (e.g., Flink, Kafka Streams).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
