Responsibility
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines for payment processing, acquisitions, and disbursements.
- Optimize ETL/ELT workflows to ensure high performance, reliability, and low latency in global payment transactions.
- Collaborate with payment, finance, and risk teams to integrate data solutions that enhance fraud detection and compliance.
- Build and deploy real-time data processing systems using technologies like Kafka, Spark, or Flink.
- Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline issues, ensuring 99.9% uptime for critical payment operations.
- Implement data governance and security best practices to protect sensitive financial data.
- Develop custom data models and analytics to provide actionable insights for payment strategy improvements.
- Stay updated with emerging fintech trends and propose innovative solutions to enhance ByteDance’s payment ecosystem.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on payment systems, fintech, or financial data processing.
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, Java, or Scala for large-scale data processing.
- Hands-on experience with big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Presto, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of distributed systems, microservices, and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Experience with real-time data streaming (Kafka, Flink, or similar).
- Familiarity with payment protocols (PCI DSS, ISO 20022, etc.) and financial regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, global team environment.
