Responsibility
- Develop and maintain data models, dashboards, and reports to support laboratory and oil & gas operations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Collaborate with lab managers and supervisors to identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics for process optimization.
- Analyze large datasets from laboratory tests, field inspections, and industrial processes to uncover trends, anomalies, and improvement opportunities.
- Automate data collection and reporting processes to reduce manual effort and enhance efficiency in compliance with industry standards (e.g., ISO, ASTM).
- Prepare and present executive-level reports with clear, actionable insights for stakeholders in the oil & gas and laboratory sectors.
- Ensure data governance and integrity by implementing validation checks, audit trails, and security protocols.
- Support cross-functional teams in root cause analysis (RCA) for deviations or non-conformities in test results or operational data.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies (e.g., AI, IoT) relevant to data analytics in oil & gas and laboratory settings.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Data Analyst, preferably in laboratory, oil & gas, or industrial testing environments.
- Proficiency in SQL, Python (Pandas, NumPy), or R for data manipulation and analysis.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik) and ETL processes.
- Strong understanding of laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and industry-specific software (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Familiarity with statistical methods, hypothesis testing, and predictive modeling.
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills to translate complex data into business insights for non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, regulated environment with adherence to safety and compliance standards.
