Responsibility
- Develop and maintain detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, and equipment.
- Monitor project budgets and provide regular financial reports to stakeholders, highlighting variances and risks.
- Implement cost-control measures to optimize expenditures without compromising quality or safety.
- Conduct feasibility studies and value engineering analyses to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and contractors to align financial plans with project milestones.
- Prepare and review contractual agreements to ensure compliance with budgetary constraints.
- Utilize cost-estimating software (e.g., Primavera, MS Project) to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Provide risk assessment and mitigation strategies for potential cost overruns.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in cost engineering, preferably in construction or infrastructure.
- Proven expertise in cost estimation, budgeting, and financial forecasting for large-scale projects.
- Proficiency in cost-estimating tools (e.g., Primavera P6, Candy, or similar) and MS Excel (advanced level).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and trends.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills to liaise with stakeholders, vendors, and clients.
- Familiarity with local and international construction standards (e.g., FIDIC, ASTM).
- Certification in Project Management (PMP) or Cost Engineering (CCE) is highly desirable.
