Responsibility
- Prepare and cook a variety of meals, including local and international cuisines, in accordance with established recipes and standards.
- Supervise and mentor junior kitchen staff, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality output.
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations in all kitchen operations.
- Manage inventory of kitchen supplies, ingredients, and equipment, and place orders as needed.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and seasonal specials.
- Monitor food costs and portion control to minimize waste and maximize profitability.
- Ensure timely preparation and presentation of meals for guests, patients, or staff, as applicable.
- Participate in kitchen cleanliness and organization, including equipment maintenance and storage management.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Cook or Senior Cook in a hospitality, healthcare, or high-volume dining environment.
- Formal culinary training or certification from a recognized institution is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards (e.g., HACCP) and hygiene practices.
- Proven ability to lead and train kitchen staff in a fast-paced setting.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
- Creative and adaptable, with the ability to cater to diverse dietary needs and preferences.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy kitchen equipment (up to 20-25 kg).
- Fluency in English; knowledge of Indonesian or other languages is an advantage.
