In this role, you will lead the formulation, testing, and optimization of advanced coating systems, ensuring they meet stringent performance, durability, and sustainability standards. Responsibility
- Lead the formulation and development of high-performance paint and coating products tailored to client and market needs.
- Design and execute laboratory testing (e.g., adhesion, corrosion resistance, color stability, and durability) to validate product performance.
- Conduct on-site trials and provide technical support to ensure seamless product implementation in real-world applications.
- Collaborate with supply chain and production teams to optimize formulations for cost-effectiveness and scalability.
- Analyze raw material specifications and recommend substitutions or improvements to enhance product quality.
- Document and present technical reports, test results, and recommendations to stakeholders and clients.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory standards (e.g., VOC compliance), and emerging technologies in coatings.
- Mentor junior chemists and technicians, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in paint/coatings formulation, preferably in an industrial or R&D setting.
- Proven expertise in resin systems, pigments, additives, and solvents used in coatings.
- Hands-on experience with laboratory instruments (e.g., spectrophotometers, viscometers, salt spray chambers).
- Strong knowledge of quality control (QC) and testing protocols (ASTM, ISO, or equivalent).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a data-driven approach to product development.
- Proficiency in English (written and verbal) for technical documentation and client communication.
- Ability to work independently and in a team, with a focus on deadline-driven projects.
