Responsibility
- Conduct in-depth research and development to formulate, test, and refine solvent-based adhesive products for industrial and consumer applications.
- Design and execute laboratory experiments, including stability testing, viscosity analysis, and adhesion strength evaluations.
- Collaborate with production teams to scale up formulations from lab to full-scale manufacturing while maintaining quality and consistency.
- Analyze material properties and performance data to identify areas for improvement in existing adhesive products.
- Document all research findings, test results, and formulation adjustments in detailed technical reports for internal review.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new materials, and emerging technologies in adhesive science to drive continuous innovation.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards (e.g., REACH, RoHS) in all R&D activities.
- Provide technical support to sales and marketing teams by developing product specifications, datasheets, and application guidelines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, Materials Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in adhesive formulation, coatings, or chemical product development, preferably in solvent-based systems.
- Strong knowledge of polymer chemistry, rheology, and surface science as applied to adhesive technologies.
- Hands-on experience with laboratory equipment (e.g., viscometers, tensile testers, FTIR, DSC) and analytical techniques.
- Proficient in data analysis and statistical tools (e.g., Minitab, Excel, or Python) for experimental design and interpretation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot formulation and production issues.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements for chemical products (e.g., ISO, ASTM, or local Indonesian standards).
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
