Responsibility
- Design and develop power transmission systems, including substations, switchgear, and high-voltage networks, ensuring compliance with international standards (IEC, IEEE).
- Conduct technical feasibility studies and load flow analysis to optimize system performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate renewable energy sources (solar, wind) into existing power grids.
- Provide expert technical support to clients, including system commissioning, troubleshooting, and performance testing.
- Prepare and present detailed engineering reports, proposals, and cost estimates for stakeholders and management.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies in power transmission, such as smart grids, HVDC systems, and digital twins.
- Ensure all projects adhere to safety protocols, environmental regulations, and industry best practices.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide training on advanced power system tools (e.g., ETAP, PSCAD, DIgSILENT).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field. PE (Professional Engineer) certification is a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in power transmission engineering, with a focus on high-voltage systems (110kV+).
- Proficient in power system analysis software (ETAP, PSCAD, PowerWorld, or similar).
- Strong knowledge of international standards (IEC 61850, IEEE 802.11, etc.) and local grid codes.
- Experience with project management from concept to commissioning, including budgeting and timeline adherence.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in English; ability to liaise with clients, vendors, and regulatory bodies.
- Problem-solving mindset with a track record of innovative solutions for complex power system challenges.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for site visits and client meetings across Southeast Asia.
