Responsibility
- Develop and implement sea freight procurement strategies to optimize costs and ensure timely deliveries.
- Negotiate contracts and rates with shipping lines, freight forwarders, and other logistics service providers.
- Monitor market trends and analyze data to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve procurement processes.
- Collaborate with internal teams to forecast demand and align procurement activities with business objectives.
- Manage vendor relationships and performance, ensuring compliance with service level agreements (SLAs).
- Coordinate with customs brokers and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with international trade regulations.
- Prepare and present reports on procurement activities, cost savings, and performance metrics to senior management.
- Lead cross-functional projects to enhance supply chain efficiency and reduce operational risks.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in sea freight procurement, logistics, or supply chain management.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills with a proven track record of cost savings.
- In-depth knowledge of international shipping regulations, customs procedures, and trade compliance.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
- Proficiency in procurement software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
