Responsibility
- Manage and organize the school library’s physical and digital collections, including cataloging, classifying, and maintaining inventory.
- Assist students, teachers, and staff in locating and utilizing library resources, including books, journals, and online databases.
- Develop and implement library programs and initiatives to promote reading, research skills, and information literacy.
- Collaborate with faculty to align library resources with curriculum needs and support classroom learning objectives.
- Oversee the circulation system, including checkouts, returns, and fines, while ensuring accurate record-keeping.
- Create a welcoming and inclusive library environment that encourages students to explore new ideas and engage with literature.
- Stay updated on emerging trends in library science, educational technology, and digital resources to enhance library services.
- Plan and host library events, such as book clubs, author visits, and reading challenges, to foster a culture of learning and community.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Library Science, Education, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- Proven experience as a librarian, preferably in an educational or school setting.
- Strong knowledge of library management systems, cataloging standards (e.g., Dewey Decimal, MARC), and digital resources.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills to engage with students, faculty, and parents.
- Familiarity with educational technology and online research tools to support modern learning needs.
- Passion for literature, education, and fostering a love of reading in young learners.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and adapt to the dynamic needs of a school environment.
- Open to relocating to Bali or already based in Indonesia (work visa sponsorship may be available for qualified candidates).
