Responsibility
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Develop, implement, and review safety policies, procedures, and emergency response plans.
- Lead safety training sessions and workshops for employees to promote awareness and best practices.
- Investigate incidents, near-misses, and accidents to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
- Monitor and maintain safety equipment, ensuring all tools and PPE are in optimal condition.
- Collaborate with project managers and supervisors to integrate safety measures into project planning and execution.
- Prepare and submit detailed safety reports to management and regulatory bodies as required.
- Stay updated on industry trends, legislative changes, and advancements in safety technology.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a safety officer role, preferably in the construction industry.
- Certification in occupational health and safety (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA, or equivalent).
- Strong knowledge of local and international safety standards and regulations.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to conduct risk assessments and develop effective safety strategies.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and safety management software.
- Willingness to travel to various project sites as needed.
