Responsibility
- Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies and procedures in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Lead safety training sessions and workshops for employees to promote awareness and compliance.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and prevent recurrence.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training activities.
- Collaborate with project managers and supervisors to integrate safety measures into project planning.
- Ensure all safety equipment is properly maintained and readily available for use.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory changes to enhance safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
- Certification in occupational safety (e.g., OSHA, NEBOSH) is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a safety officer role, preferably in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of local and international safety regulations and standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively train and engage employees.
- Ability to conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
- Proficient in using safety management software and tools.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
