Responsibility
- Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Lead and facilitate safety induction training for new employees and ongoing safety briefings for the existing team.
- Manage incident reporting, perform root cause analysis, and maintain accurate documentation for all safety-related occurrences.
- Ensure full compliance with DOSH regulations and other relevant local government legislation.
- Coordinate with site management to integrate safety requirements into all construction project phases.
- Maintain safety equipment inventories and ensure all protective gear meets industry standards.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Occupational Safety and Health (OSH), Engineering, or a related field.
- Yellow Book (SHO) certification or equivalent registration with DOSH is highly preferred.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a Safety Officer role within the construction or industrial sector.
- Strong working knowledge of OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001 standards.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia to effectively train and engage staff.
- Ability to interpret and apply complex safety regulations in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Proactive mindset with strong problem-solving abilities and a commitment to maintaining a safety-first culture.
