In this role, you will play a critical part in maintaining the highest standards of Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) within a complex chemical manufacturing plant. You will support the site safety team in executing rigorous safety protocols, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and fostering a culture of safety-first behavior across the facility.
This position is offered on a contract basis with an annual renewal structure, providing stability and exposure to high-level industrial safety practices in one of Singapore's most vital sectors.
Responsibility
- Monitor and enforce daily workplace safety and health (WSH) regulations across the chemical manufacturing plant.
- Conduct regular site safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and non-compliance issues.
- Assist in the development and implementation of safe work procedures (SWP) and standard operating procedures (SOP).
- Coordinate and facilitate safety training programs and toolbox meetings for staff and contractors.
- Manage incident reporting, perform investigations into near-misses or accidents, and track corrective actions.
- Ensure all safety documentation, permits-to-work, and records are maintained in accordance with company policy and legal requirements.
- Liaise with various departments to drive continuous improvement in site safety performance.
Qualifications
- Minimum Diploma in Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) or an equivalent relevant qualification.
- Registered WSH Coordinator with the Ministry of Manpower (MOM).
- At least 2-3 years of relevant experience in a chemical or high-hazard manufacturing plant environment.
- Strong knowledge of Singapore WSH Act and its subsidiary legislations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with workers and management.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of working in a fast-paced industrial environment.
- Ability to commit to a yearly renewable contract arrangement.
