Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) is seeking a dedicated and proactive Safety and Health Officer to join our campus operations team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for upholding the highest standards of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) across our state-of-the-art campus. You will play a critical role in fostering a culture of safety for our students, faculty, and staff by ensuring full compliance with national regulations and university policies.

Responsibility
- Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance with DOSH and other regulatory requirements.
- Lead risk assessment initiatives for campus facilities, laboratories, and construction projects.
- Coordinate emergency response drills and maintain fire safety equipment and evacuation plans.
- Maintain detailed records of safety incidents, investigations, and corrective actions taken.
- Liaise with external government agencies and regulatory bodies regarding safety certifications and compliance audits.
- Organize safety training programs and awareness campaigns for university staff and student bodies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Engineering, or a related field.
- Certified Safety and Health Officer (SHO) registered with the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) Malaysia.
- Minimum 2-3 years of proven experience in safety management, preferably in an institutional or construction environment.
- In-depth knowledge of the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 (OSHA) and FMA 1967.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct detailed risk assessments and accident investigations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of interacting with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in both English and Bahasa Malaysia is essential.
