Responsibility
- Design, develop, and optimize multi-agent path planning algorithms for autonomous drones in maritime environments.
- Implement and test AI-based navigation systems using machine learning, reinforcement learning, or optimization techniques.
- Conduct simulations and real-world experiments to validate algorithm performance in dynamic, obstacle-rich scenarios.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate path planning solutions with drone hardware and sensor systems.
- Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and conferences (e.g., ICRA, IROS, RSS).
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in autonomous systems, swarm robotics, and AI to inform project direction.
- Mentor junior researchers and students, fostering a culture of innovation and knowledge sharing.
- Prepare technical reports, grant proposals, and presentations for stakeholders and funding bodies.
Qualifications
- PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with a focus on autonomous systems, path planning, or AI.
- Proven experience in multi-agent systems, motion planning, or swarm robotics (publications in relevant areas are a plus).
- Strong programming skills in Python, C++, or MATLAB, with experience in ROS (Robot Operating System) or similar frameworks.
- Familiarity with machine learning libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) and optimization tools (e.g., Gurobi, CPLEX).
- Experience with drone hardware, sensor fusion, or SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) is highly desirable.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced research environment.
- Prior experience in maritime or aerial robotics is an advantage.
