Responsibility
- Conduct independent and collaborative research in mechanobiology, focusing on the mechanical regulation of cellular and molecular processes.
- Design and execute experiments using advanced techniques such as atomic force microscopy, traction force microscopy, and live-cell imaging.
- Analyze and interpret complex data sets, preparing results for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
- Develop and optimize experimental protocols and methodologies to enhance research outcomes.
- Mentor and supervise junior researchers, including graduate and undergraduate students.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including biologists, physicists, and engineers, to drive innovative research projects.
- Prepare and submit research proposals to secure funding from national and international agencies.
- Present research findings at conferences, seminars, and workshops to disseminate knowledge and foster collaborations.
Qualifications
- PhD in Biology, Biophysics, Bioengineering, or a related field with a strong focus on mechanobiology or cellular mechanics.
- Proven track record of high-quality research, demonstrated by publications in reputable scientific journals.
- Extensive experience with advanced microscopy techniques, cell culture, and molecular biology assays.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., MATLAB, Python, R).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex scientific concepts clearly.
- Experience in mentoring students or junior researchers is highly desirable.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced research environment.
- Familiarity with grant writing and securing research funding is a plus.
