Responsibility
- Develop and optimize microbial platforms for sustainable metal recovery from waste streams.
- Design and conduct experiments to evaluate microbial performance under varying conditions.
- Analyze data using advanced computational and statistical tools.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including environmental scientists, bioengineers, and industry partners.
- Prepare research reports, presentations, and manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals.
- Assist in grant writing and securing funding for research projects.
- Mentor junior researchers and students in laboratory techniques and research methodologies.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in environmental biotechnology and sustainable engineering.
Qualifications
- PhD in Environmental Science, Bioengineering, Microbiology, or a related field.
- Proven experience in microbial biotechnology, particularly in metal recovery or bioremediation.
- Strong background in molecular biology, microbiology, or biochemical engineering.
- Proficiency in laboratory techniques such as PCR, DNA sequencing, and microbial culturing.
- Experience with data analysis tools (e.g., Python, R, MATLAB) and statistical modeling.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for publishing and presenting research.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced research environment.
- Prior experience in grant writing or securing research funding is a plus.
