Responsibility
- Lead and contribute to research and development projects focused on CO2 capture technologies, including solvent-based, membrane, and solid sorbent systems.
- Design, conduct, and analyze laboratory experiments and pilot-scale tests to evaluate the performance of novel carbon capture materials and processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including chemists, chemical engineers, and environmental scientists, to develop integrated solutions for carbon mitigation.
- Prepare and submit research proposals for funding opportunities, including grant applications and industry partnerships.
- Author and co-author scientific papers, reports, and presentations for conferences, journals, and stakeholders.
- Mentor junior researchers, including graduate students and research assistants, in experimental techniques and data analysis.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends and advancements in CO2 capture and related fields, and incorporate innovative approaches into research.
- Ensure compliance with safety, ethical, and regulatory standards in all research activities.
Qualifications
- A PhD in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemistry, or a related field with a focus on CO2 capture, separation processes, or sustainable energy.
- Proven research experience in carbon capture technologies, demonstrated through publications, patents, or project contributions.
- Strong background in experimental design, data analysis, and laboratory techniques relevant to gas separation and adsorption.
- Proficiency in computational tools such as Aspen Plus, MATLAB, Python, or COMSOL for process modeling and simulation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly and effectively.
- Experience with pilot-scale testing and process optimization is highly desirable.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary research environment.
- Familiarity with grant writing and project management is a plus.
